As part of our ongoing effort to contribute to the society in little ways that we are capable of, Kent Reliance Building Society entered into a corporate partnership with YMCA’s relief and development agency, Y Care International. KRBS extended financial support of £10,000 to support a children’s home in Mangalore for children and young people living with HIV/AIDS and AIDS orphans. Easiprocess, being the subsidiary, we will work with Y Care and YMCA Mangalore for future projects as well.

On 2nd June 2006, Malcolm Mackenzie (Chairman of Easiprocess), John Cheele (Director of Easiprocess) accompanied by two managers from the company, visited the home in Mangalore. The children were very excited to see new faces and soon got comfortable in our presence. We met around 15 children and took a walk around their little home which was cosy despite being inadequately furnished and warmed with their smiles, despite the perennial rain. The children enthusiastically put up a concert for us and we enjoyed being in the midst of young and hopeful hearts who were singing and dancing. It opened our eyes to a world that we are secluded from by sheer providence and the aspirations of those who are oblivious to their illness.

There were also four very dedicated ladies who take care of the children as if they were their very own. They kids too we noticed were very fond of them and knew they could get their way with their ‘aunties’ no matter what they did. When it was lunch time, the kids settled down quickly to eat. Piously joining their hands, they shut their eyes, recited a prayer and became one with God. It was a magical moment for us, moving and very enriching.
